The book begins with the story of Charles W. Nash, the founder of Nash Motors. Nash was a self-made man who started out as a machinist and eventually became the president of General Motors. In 1916, he left GM to start his own car company, which he named Nash Motors. Nash Motors quickly became a successful company, and by the 1920s, it was one of the largest car manufacturers in the United States.

In 1930, Nash Motors merged with Hudson Motor Car Company. Hudson was another successful car company, and the merger created a powerful force in the automotive industry. The new company was called Nash-Hudson Motors. Nash-Hudson Motors continued to produce successful cars throughout the 1930s and 1940s.

In 1954, Nash-Hudson Motors merged with American Motors Corporation. American Motors was a smaller car company, but it had a strong reputation for quality and innovation. The new company was called American Motors Corporation (AMC). AMC continued to produce successful cars throughout the 1950s and 1960s, but it eventually fell on hard times in the 1970s.

In 1987, AMC was acquired by Chrysler Corporation. Chrysler continued to produce AMC cars until 1995, when the AMC brand was discontinued. However, the legacy of Nash, Hudson, and AMC lives on in the many classic cars that they produced.

Nash Hudson and American Motors: A Great Lakes Series is a must-read for anyone interested in the history of the automobile industry. The book is well-written and informative, and it is illustrated with over 200 rare photographs. This book is a valuable addition to any automotive library.
